What is a Federal Pell Grant?

The Federal Pell Grant provides need based low-income undergraduate students financial aid. Students can use their grants at one of 5400 postsecondary institutions. There are many postsecondary schools now offering students the ability to earn a degree online. The amount of the Pell Grant the student is eligible for is found by using the student’s expected family contribution (EFC); the cost of tuition; whether the student will be attending school full-time or part-time; and whether the student’s college enrollment is for a full academic year or less.

Students may not receive Federal Pell Grant funds from more than one school at a time.

How is the financial need of the Federal Pell Grant determined?

The U.S . Department of Education determines the student’s need for financial help using a standard formula established by Congress. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student’s expected family contribution (EFC) is how the U.S. Department of Education comes up with the eligible amount of financial aid given. The basic elements used to come up with the amount of financial aid are the students income (and assets if the student is independent), the parents income and assets (if the student is dependent), the family household size , and the number of family members (excluding parents) attending postsecondary institutions.

To figure the expected family contribution (EFC ) the total of; a percentage of net income (remaining income after subtracting allowances for basic living expenses and taxes); and a percentage of net assets (assets remaining after subtracting an asset protection allowance). There are different assessment rates and allowances used for dependent students, independent students without dependents, and independent students with dependents.

How can I receive more information about the Federal Pell Grant?

To receive more information on the Federal Pell Grant you can contact an eligible postsecondary school offering campus based degree programs as well as online degree programs. The Federal Pell Grant makes it possible for low-income students, to go back to school and earn a degree at a participating postsecondary institution. For more information on the Federal Pell Grant you can visit http://www.ed.gov or contact The U.S. Department of Education by calling 1-800-USA-Learn (1-800-872-5327).

Campus Universities
CollegeInfoUSA.com’s catalog of campus schools covers the entire United States and Canada as well. Users can browse schools based on area of study from the arts to legal studies to technology.

Our resources and staff are experts on narrowing down the field of potential schools based on all the variables.”

Online Degree
For those looking to fit a higher education into their already busy lifestyles, online degrees allow flexible class hours. For people with families or jobs, this can be a great option. Thanks to advanced technology, online degree programs allow people to earn a computer science degree just as well as a degree in the arts.

“We’ve seen a rapid growth in interest in online schooling, and with the advances in online courses over the past few years it has truly become an equal to the campus experience,” said Potts. “Students gain all the advantages of a campus student from developing relationships with classmates and professors to collaborating on projects. The best part is that online students can work their education into their lifestyles and spread the coursework out over time, rather than making it a lifestyle.”

CLEARWATER, FL — Throughout September CollegInfoUSA.com, a free Web consultation company for prospective college student, has added hundreds of universities and colleges to its already robust database of institutions. In addition to incorporating these new schools, CollegeInfoUSA.com has also widened its boundaries to include top schools in Canada as well. With CollegeInfoUSA.com’s resources, users can explore degree programs and opportunities of thousands of colleges and universities from the comfort of their homes for free. Searches can be conducted by area of interest, a specific craft, and zip code. Also, users can contact a CollegeInfoUSA.com representative via email or telephone to learn more about choosing the right school and for assistance in requesting information from schools.

“When we assist people, it is imperative that we can show them a variety of college programs that give students an edge in today’s work force,” said CollegeInfoUSA.com representative Michael Potts. “We continually update our database with new campus universities and online degree programs. This is essential in finding the right fit for every single person that we help.”

Extending the list of colleges to include Canadian institutions enables CollegeInfoUSA.com to help American students find opportunities in another country while also helping individuals from Canada find a school in Canada or the United States commented Potts.

“It’s really exciting to be able to provide Americans with educational options in another country, especially one that is so close,” said Potts. “At the same time, we can now help Canadians looking to experience American culture and educational opportunities.

CLEARWATER, FL — CollegeInfoUSA.com, a leading Web consultation company providing free information on American and Canadian universities, has recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary as a leading provider in student assistance.

CollegeInfoUSA.com uses its database of thousands of campus universities and online degree programs to assist individuals looking to return to school as well as recently graduated high school students. The company helps students find the best campus university or online degree based on area of study and location. CollegeInfoUSA.com also assists students in selecting and applying for financial aid programs.

“Over the past decade we have helped thousands of students take their first steps towards a higher education,” said CollegeInfoUSA.com representative Michael Potts. “No matter what your age, educational level, background, or goals may be, we have proven time and time again that there is a school out there for everyone, and we want to help find it.”

The resources provided by CollegeInfoUSA.com make for a one-stop-shop for finding a college online. “Rather than filing through individual university Web sites, we provide information on all schools based on students’ specific interests and present the information in a friendly format that is easy to understand,” commented Potts.

Individuals interested in exploring the vast educational options from universities across the United States and Canada can visit Http://CollegeInfoUSA.com/ to browse universities.

“Our success as a resource center for students comes down to our passion and dedication to every student we meet,” said Potts. “Every day we are helping more people on their way to a great education and enriched lives. Being a part of that process has been an honor and a privilege.”
